In this vast universe any picture or an object when simplified to its original form we primarily evident its lines, shape, shadow and its distribution etc. and then slowly we explore its colour, categorization and overall appearance.Shadow and its distribution is a very crucial constraint of a picture, it is nothing but the two main faces shade and light that is Black and White. Everything is grasped in black and white before exploiting any colour in man, animal, place or a thing. We can say, White is a universal donor, it can merge into any colour and Black is universal acceptor, it merges almost every colour into it. A young man from the suburban area of Kolhapur Yuvraj Patil is the artist who justifies the significance of White and Black through his canvases. These days they are being exhibited at the art Gallery of Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi.

Our surrounding and its elements are his subjects of painting such as Nomadic tribes, huge carnivals, Kolkata’s human life, an auto rickshaw, a boat, banks of holy Banaras, India Gate, Gate Way of India. The authenticity of these subjects is the core of his paintings. He has a realistic approach of painting a man, place or a thing, their miniature, distribution of shadows, depth, density through his very little weapons like charcoal black, canvas white and a pure red. He has attempted to present his observation and skill of expressing it very cleverly by including the tiniest portion of every subject into his painting. He has that all awareness of the space necessary for precise arrangement of forms and figures and also he has utilized the skillful rendering, light and dark shades and moreover to enhance the beauty of his composition accurate placement of Red. And this Red literally sets in life to the painting and makes it enchanting.
